Name variations: Landreau; first name variations: Marie Noëlle, Nathalie. [^2]

Birth and Early Life

Daughter of Jean Landeau and Marie Aubert, Noëlle Landeau was baptized on November 2, 1638, in the parish of Saint-Barthélemy in Jauzé [^3], a commune in Perche Sarthois located in the diocese of Le Mans and the former province of Maine. The commune of Jauzé borders Courcival. Her godfather was Mathurin Landeau, and her godmother was Noëlle Aubert. [^4][^5]

According to perche-quebec.com, it is likely that Jean Baudoin and Noëlle Landeau knew each other before migrating to Canada. [^2] The first mention of Noëlle in the colony’s records is her marriage in August 1659. [^6]
