Jean Huard

Variations: Huart

Jean Huard was born around 1641 in Courson (Notre-Dame), Normandy, France, the son of Marguerin Huard and Julienne Bouillet [^9], [^10], [^11].

He first appears in New France records on November 5, 1662, in a contract with Jean Bourassa [^12].

Note on Origin: Jean Huard's origin is sometimes incorrectly cited as the diocese of Chartres. The parish of Courson was actually in the diocese of Coutances. This confusion led to the incorrect identification of his place of origin as Courson-Monteloup by some genealogists [^16].
