Notable Events

• 1683 – The Catlin family moved to Deerfield, Massachusetts, a frontier settlement.
• 1704 – The Deerfield Massacre resulted in the deaths of John Catlin Jr. and several of his children.
• Ruth Catlin was captured during the raid but later returned in 1707.
