A Global Resilience Triptych for Educators & Community Nodes

OTFR (Open Tools for Resilience) is a lightweight, single-file "command center" designed to track global friction points and the human intelligence working to mitigate them.

In a world of complex "patches" and bureaucratic delays, this tool takes the Easy Road: it leverages existing public data and honors the grassroots, religious, and unnamed groups that provide the true "last-mile" of planetary care.

📡 The Three Pillars

The dashboard monitors three critical dimensions of global friction: 1. FLUX (Displacement/Conflict): Tracking the 117M+ people on the move and the 550+ daily conflict incidents. 2. FUEL (Food/Supply): Monitoring the FAO Food Price Index and local metabolic bottlenecks. 3. FORCE (Climate/Thermodynamics): Watching the redistribution of energy, specifically the 2026 La Niña transition.

  • Live Sync: A manual "Sync" button that initiates a data-flow state, preventing reliance on "developer patches."
  • Spotlighted Mitigation: Direct links to high-impact NGOs (RefugePoint, JRS, WRI) and acknowledgments of the vital work done by faith-based and unnamed community groups.
  • Educator Hub: Integrated "Truth Audit" tools for students to verify charity transparency via CharityWatch, CharityNavigator, and GiveWell.

🚀 How to Use

  1. Download: Save the index.html file to your local machine.
  2. Launch: Open the file in any modern web browser.
  3. Sync: Click "Sync Global Feeds" to initialize the gauges.
  4. Educate: Use the bottom panel to lead students or community members in evaluating global resilience efforts.

🤝 Contribution & Ideas (RFC)

We are building this in the open because we don't trust "Mark" (or anyone else) to patch things such that they will work for your specific context. We want your ideas.

We are looking for: - Feed Suggestions: Are there more resilient, open-source APIs we should be pulling from? - Uncovering the Unnamed: How can we better highlight the local, non-indexed groups that fix the world every day? - Logic Tweaks: Help us refine the "Friction Gauges" to be even more accurate to the reality on the ground.

📜 Principles

  • No Patches: Never trust a central authority to fix the tool. The code should be transparent and user-run.
  • The Easy Road: Never be too proud to take the easy road—use existing networks and established auditors.
  • Life & Intelligence: This tool exists to support the persistence of life and the growth of intelligence across the planet.
