Research Process Checklist

1. Input Collection

  • [ ] Gather all relevant materials (e.g., family tree, scanned documents, photos, URLs).
  • [ ] Ensure all input materials are properly ingested into the system (this can be difficult, technically).
  • [ ] Confirm that all objectives and guidance for the research are clearly defined and documented.

2. Initial Processing

  • [ ] Assign each AI (e.g., Grok and Claude) to process the complete set of input materials. Note: Claude’s 2025 updates enhance document understanding.
  • [ ] Ensure each AI generates a summary of their findings.
  • [ ] Verify that each AI adheres to agreed-upon ethical and research constraints.

3. Review and Merge

  • [ ] Share complete datasets from each AI with the other.
  • [ ] Allow each AI to review and comment on the other’s work.
  • [ ] Combine the findings from both AIs using a specific merge process.
  • [ ] Generate a single document from the merged findings. Tip: Use Microsoft Copilot (2025) for collaborative editing.

4. Refinement

  • [ ] Assign one AI (e.g., Grok) to smooth, refine, and make the document consistent, cohesive, and coherent.
  • [ ] Ensure the document is free of inconsistencies and errors.

5. Summary Creation

  • [ ] Ask the other AI (e.g., Claude) to create a non-sugar-coated summary emphasizing core truths.
  • [ ] Review the summary to ensure it accurately reflects the findings.

6. Final Review

  • [ ] Confirm that the final document and summary are clear, concise, and complete.
  • [ ] Ensure all steps have been followed and documented.

This checklist can be adapted to various research processes involving multiple AI tools and datasets.
